Switching from Norton AV to AVG free?
Do I need to uninstall Norton before I install AVG? I’d like to see AVG up & running before I obliviate Norton if possible. The users manual doesn’t address this.
Two ACTIVE antivirus programs can never work together in a single PC/Laptop. Installing more than one can cause software conflicts, making your antivirus protection useless and your system really slow. But there is a way to have TWO antivirus INSTALLED simultaneously and co-existing peacefully on a PC/Laptop, for this you need that ONLY ONE antivirus to have the real-time protection enabled and the second antivirus must only be use to MANUALLY scan selected files (like checking for a second opinion).
TIP:
• In some cases, an antivirus will not install if it detects another antivirus already installed on the system.
• You will need to uninstall Norton first. After uninstalling it, you must reboot your PC before installing the new antivirus (in this case AVG).
Remember that no anti-virus can protect you if you do not keep it updated. Update your anti-virus at least twice a week, better daily.
